HCAC first-half road slate concludes

LEXINGTON, KY. – Sophomore guard Nicole Weaver (Fort Wayne, Ind.) tossed in 11 points and dished off three assists, both Manchester University team bests, in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action Saturday, Jan. 13.

Junior guard Sara Carder (Ney, Ohio) turned in another impressive performance off the bench with eight points, second-most for Coach Josh Dzurick’s squad. Freshman post player Hannah Smith (Upland, Ind.) nearly notched her first collegiate double-double, totaling seven points, and eight rebounds. Even with those numbers in tow, it wasn’t enough at the Clive M. Beck Center, as the host Transylvania University Pioneers rallied from an early 8-3 deficit behind a 48-20 roll over the second and third periods as part of a 74-47 victory.

MU returns to Stauffer-Wolfe Arena Wednesday, Jan. 17. It’s the final game of the first half of the 2017-18 conference slate, as Bluffton University visits for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
