WILMINGTON, OHIO – Manchester University compiled four race victories during dual competition against Ohio Athletic Conference member Wilmington College Saturday, Jan. 13.
Coach Mike Kroll’s women’s squad was led by freshman Shelby Kell (Charlottesville, Ind) and junior Jamie McBride (Elkhart, Ind.). Kell captured the 800-meter freestyle (10:59.9) and was second in the 400-meter freestyle (5:16.09). McBride had a similar afternoon’s resume winning the 200-meter individual medley (2:53.61) and was a runner-up in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:30.28).
The Black and Gold men’s team gained a pair of victories from sophomore Christain Poole to add to the successes inside Wilmington College Natatorium. The Anderson, Ind., native won the 50 and 100-meter freestyle events in 25.19 and 58.98 seconds, respectively.
MU continues its busy January schedule Saturday, Jan. 20. The Spartans join Anderson University and Olivet College in tri-meet action at AU’s Bennett Natatorium.
