Former men’s cross country and track and field standout Blake Harris has been named an assistant coach for all three disciplines, according to Manchester University Director of Cross Country and Track and Field Brian Cashdollar.
A December 2017 graduate and four-year member of the cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field teams, he concluded a star-studded collegiate career by qualifying for the 2017 NCAA Division III cross country Championships. He placed 75th, the best for any individual at the national meet in program history. Harris added that accolade to an all-Great Lakes regional award (placing 11th) and the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference individual title. His senior season also featured runner-up efforts at the Indiana Intercollegiate Championships’ small school race and the Greater Louisville Classic Silver event.
His name is well-represented across the record books. Harris is among the top 15 all-time best 8K cross country clockings; ranks in the indoor top 10 in the 3000 and 5000 meters; and holds the second-fastest outdoor 10,000-meter time.
