The Southwood boys and girls paid a visit to North Miami Friday, splitting the two games. The Lady Knights fell to North Miami 63-34 while the boys defeated the Warriors 88-37.
In the girls game North Miami would jump out to a 2-0 lead on a bucket from Hannah Hall before a Morgan Farr free throw made it 2-1. The Lady Warriors would then go on a 10-0 run with Adria Hartley scoring 8 of the points. Caily Bolser hit the other bucket. Farr would stop the run with two free throws as North Miami led 15-6 after one.
The Lady Warriors would start the second quarter with a 9-2 run. Again it would be Hartley leading the way with Bailey Keim adding a three pointer. Makenna Pace had the Southwood bucket. North Miami led 24-8. The Lady Knights would close the gap with Farr hitting and Kayla Mays converting two free throws to make it 26-14. North Miami would answer with two Cailyn Bolser buckets and one from MaryAnn Freeman to lead 32-14 at the half.
The Lady Warriors would start the third quarter with an 11-2 run as the lead grew to 41-16 and led 45-23 with a quarter to go. The lead would grow to 51-23 to start the fourth before Farr made it 51-25. Keim would then hit twice along with a bucket from Cailyn Bolser for a 57-25 score as North Miami went on to win 63-34.

The boys were up next with the Knight offense flexing their muscle. North Miami would grab a 2-0 lead on a Tristan Working bucket before Dallas Holmes and Peyton Trexler made it 4-2 Southwood. Working would hit again to tie the score when the Knights answered with a 21-0 run to end the quarter. Trexler would lead the way with 9 points. Holmes added 6 while Carson Blair hit two buckets from behind the arch. Matt Nose also added two buckets as the Knights led 25-4 after one.
Blair would start the second quarter with a three before Patrick Masters made it 28-6. Two more Blair long balls and a bucket from Trexler increased the Southwood lead to 36-6 before the Warriors scored 5 straight. Noah Goulette would score 3 of the points. Matt Nose stopped the Warriors run with a bucket that was followed by an unusual technical foul. Peyton Trexler was fouled on a dunk attempt, but was teched for hanging on the rim which led to a Warrior free throw with the Knights getting the ball out of bounds. The score was 44-16 when the Knights scored 12 of the last 14 points of the quarter to lead 56-20 at the half.
Dallas Holmes would hit a three to start the second half with Working answering for a 59-22 score. The lead would grow to 75-26 when the Knights would score 8 straight and led 83-31 after three.
Both teams would clear the bench in the fourth as the Knights went on to win 88-37.

Southwood won the boys junior varsity game 81-15.
The Knights shot 58% from the field forced 30 turnovers and only committed 5 turnovers in the game. Gabe Lloyd led the team in scoring with 19 and added 5 assists. Colby Crow led the team in rebounds with 9 and added 4 pts. Carson Rich led in assists with 7 while scoring 7 pts. Connor Rich led in steals with 7 and added 6 pts. Jackson Simons scored 13 pts. and had 7 rebounds. Quentin Perry scored 12 pts. with 3 assists and 3 steals. Braden Barney had 10 pts. and 6 rebounds. Alex Farr also scored 10 pts. with 4 steals.
