The Southwood boys basketball team picked up a big road win at Northwestern Saturday afternoon, defeating the Tigers 71-66.
The Knights would again ride a balanced scoring attack with four players in double figures and the fifth with nine. The game was nip and tuck the entire time with the Knights winning the first and fourth quarters. Southwood led 19-12 after the first stop before Northwestern took the second 16-15. Southwood led 34-28 at the half.
Although the Knights scored 16 points in the third quarter, the Tigers had the hot hand scoring 23 points to take a 51-50 after three before Southwood regrouped for a 21-13 fourth quarter to win the game 71-66.
