Second half run sends Anderson past MU

ANDERSON, IND. – Senior forward/center Enis Becirevic (Fort Wayne, Ind.) turned in another significant effort from the field to lead Manchester University in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play Wednesday, Feb. 7.

Becirevic, battling host Anderson University and a mostly partisan crowd of Ravens fans at O.C. Lewis Gymnasium, went nine of 12 from the field in route to an 18-point night. He also tied with senior guard Brody Kirby (Frankfort, Ind.) for the team steals’ lead (two). Coach Gerad Good’s team finished with four tallying double digits, as Kirby and junior guard Adrian Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind.) each registered 15; and freshman forward Cornell Hampton(Griffith, Ind.) ended with 11 and seven rebounds while tying Johnson for the assist lead (three).

Even with those strong offensive numbers in tow, it wasn’t enough to stop an AU season sweep due to a 93-79 defeat. After a back and forth first half, the Ravens used a 24-7 run over the midway section of the second half in route to the league victory.

Manchester University (5-17 overall, 3-12 HCAC) closes its regular season road schedule Saturday, Feb. 10, tipping off at Hanover College’s Collier Arena at 3 p.m.
