The Northfield Lady Norse got back on track Wednesday, defeating Maconaquah 14-4 in five innings.
The Norse would late 3 runs in the first. Kiana Kendall would lead off with a walk and was sacrificed to second by Michelle Hunt. Ally Keaffaber would then single followed by an Addi baker single to score Kendall for a 1-0 lead. With two outs Kenzie Baer would single home Keaffaber for a 2-0 lead. Satterwaite would then reach on an error with Leming scoring to make it 3-0.
The Norse would explode for 8 runs in the third. Keaffaber led off with a walk. After two ground outs and Keaffaber standing on second Baer would single with Keaffaber scoring. Satterwaite would follow with a single with Baer rounding the bases to increase the lead to 5-0. Jenna Krom and Madison Shrider would follow with back to back walks to load the bases when Kendall laced a double that scored Satterwaite and Krom for a 7-0 lead. Hunt would follow with a walk to load the bases again when Keaffaber blasted a shot over the right field fence for a grand slam and an 11-0 lead. Maconaquah would score 3 times in the bottom of the inning and 1 in the fourth to make it 11-4 heading to the fifth.
In the fifth Kendall would hit a one out single before Hunt reached on an error. With two outs Baker would double, scoring Hoover and Hunt. The last run of the game came on an Abby Hunter single that scored Baker.
