The Southwood Knights split a pair of games at Taylor Saturday, falling to Taylor 9-1 before defeating North Miami 7-3.
The Southwood bats collected just 4 hits in game one and trailed 9-0 before scoring their lone run in the sixth. Alex Farr led off the inning with a double. With two outs Gabe Lloyd was hit by a pitch before Tanner Hartley reached on an error with Farr scoring.
In game two the Knights held a 2-0 lead after two inning before North Miami grabbed a 3-2 lead after four. The Knights would respond with two runs in the sixth and three in the seventh to win 7-3.
In the first Mason Yentes would reach on an error before stealing second and scoring when Logan Barley reached on an error. The Knights would add another run in the second when Lloyd reached on a one out error and scored on a Kelley single.
Down 3-2 heading to the sixth the Knights would start to make some noise. Yentes would lead off with a single and take third on a Connor Rich single. Yentes would score on a catchers error with Rich going to third and scoring on a Barley fly out to grab a 4-3 lead.
In the seventh Lloyd would lead off with a walk before Lucas Topliff reached on a dropped third strike. Farr would the double home both runners to make it 6-3.With one out Farr would be thrown out at home on a Yentes grounder before Yentes stole second and scored on a Rich single.
