There were several inter county battles Monday night and one was the Southwood Lady Knights visiting Wabash and defeating the Lady Apaches 13-6.
Wabash would grab a 3-2 lead after the first. In the top of the first Makenna Pace would reach on a two out error before a tabitha Thomas two run homer gave the Knights a 2-0 lead. The Apaches would answer in the bottom of the inning when Erica King scored on an error before a Katie Newman fly ball scored Taylor Kelley to make it 2-2. Bre Sewell would then give Wabash a 3-2 lead driving home Newman.
The Knights would take back the lead in the second. With two outs Turner would single home Erin McGouldrick and Kassity Simpson to lead 4-3. After a Pace single Thomas would single home Turner to lead 5-3.
Wabash would make it 5-4 in the third when Kelsie Olinger reached on a third strike with Tabitha Wagner racing home.Back came the Knights in the fourth, getting a single from Simpson before a Turner single scored Simpson for a 6-4 lead.
In the fifth with two outs two straight walks and a Wabash error gave the Knights 2 runs before a Thomas single chased home another for an 8-4 lead.
The Knights would extend their lead in the sixth, getting 4 hits in the inning that was capped off with a Kassity Simpson three run home run to open a 13-4 lead. The Apaches would get 2 runs back in the bottom of the inning, taking advantage of two walks and an error before an Osborn single made it 13-6.
