The Northfield lady Norse got triple fromMichelle Hint and a two run home run from Addi Baker in the sixth inning as they defeated Wabash 6-1 Wednesday.
The game was scoreless until the third when the Norse would plate a run. With one out Ally Keaffaber would single. With two outs and Keaffaber on second Abby Hunter was hit by a pitch before Keaffaber scored on a wild pitch for a 1-0 lead.
The Norse would add another solo run in the fourth when Madison Shrider hit a two out single and was followed by a Kiana Kendall single. Michelle Hunt would then single home Shrider for a 2-0 lead. The Norse then loaded the base when Keaffaber was hit before a fly out ended the threat.
Wabash would cut the Norse lead in half in the fifth. With one out Taylor Mettler would single and was followed by a Erica King walk. The Apaches would then pull off the double steal with King being caught between first and second while Mettler raced home to make it 2-1.
In the sixth Shrider would lead off with a single before a Hunt one out triple scored Shrider for a 3-1 lead. With two outs Addi Baker would hit a shot into the wind that cleared the left field fence and gave the Norse a 5-1 lead.
Northfield would add one more run in the seventh. Faith Satterwaite would single. With two outs a Kendall single up the middle would put runners on first and third when Hunt came through again with a single to score Satterwaite for a 6-1 lead.
