The Manchester and Wabash softball teams combined for just 6 hits with the Squires taking advantage of every one plus a couple Apache mistakes to defeat Wabash 7-0 Monday.
Manchester would score all of the runs in two innings. The Squires grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first. Emma West would lead off reaching on an error. With West standing on second after a sacrifice Mackenzie Day would draw a walk. Kiera Stacy would follow with a double to right, chasing home both runners for a 2-0 lead.
The game would go to the fifth still 2-0 when Manchester would plate 5 runs. Torina Runkel would lead off with a walk before taking second on a wild pitch. Mattie McKee would then sacrifice Runkel to third before an Andrea Kahn single made it 3-0. West would follow reaching on an error and after an Allie Sites walk the bases were loaded. Mackenzie Day would fly out with Kahn tagging up and scoring for a 4-0 lead before Stacy reached on an error with West and Sites scoring for a 6-0 lead. Carsyn Howard would drive Stacy home with a single for the final run.
