The Manchester Squires made it a clean sweep at Rochester Wednesday. After the softball team handed the Zebras their first conference loss the baseball team grabbed a 5-0 lead and defeated Rochester 5-1.
The Squires would take a 1-0 lead in the second. With one out Thane Creager would draw a walk. With two outs Trey McNall would single with Creager taking third on the throw. Shepherd would then single home Creager for a 1-0 lead.
In the third Mason Meyer would lead off reaching on an error before Kaleb Fluke did the same. Hayes Sturtsman would follow with a single that scored Mayer for a 2-0 lead. With one out Creager singled with Fluke racing home to lead 3-0. Mason Roberts would the draw a walk to load the bases before Sturtsman scored on a McNall sac. Shepherd would follow with a single that scored Creager to give Manchester a 5-0 lead.
The Squires would not plate a run the remainder of the game, giving up a run in the seventh for the 5-1 final.
