The Manchester Lady Squires got a one hit pitching performance from freshman Torina Runkel and some timely hitting in a 2-1 win over Oak Hill Thursday.
The Squires managed just 4 hits while also being robbed of a home run.
Manchester would grab a 1-0 lead in the third. Mattie McKee would lead off the inning with a single before being caught in a rundown between first and second. Andrea Kahn would follow being hit by a pitch before and Emma West walk. Both runners would advance a base on a passed ball before an Allie Sites fly ball scored Kahn for a 1-0 lead.
Oak Hill would tie the scored in the fourth when Jenessa Hasty collected the Eagles only hit with a towering home run to center. In the bottom of the inning Kiera Stacy would reach on an error before Robey made a fantastic catch, robbing Carsyn Howard of a home run. The Eagles would get out of the inning with a force out and a pop up.
The Squires would break the tie in the bottom of the sixth. Stacy would lead off with a single. With two outs and Stacy on second, Runkel would single to left with Stacy racing home for the go ahead run. Runkel would shut down Oak Hill in the seventh for the 2-1 final.
