The Manchester Squires went on the road to Churubusco Tuesday to wind up their regular season, defeating the Eagles 6-1.
The Squires would plate a run in the first and third. In the first Mason Meyer would hit a blast over the center field fence for a solo shot and a 1-0 lead. A Meyer single would load the bases with no outs before Shepherd was forced out at home on a Kaleb Fluke grounder. With one out Strobel would be caught trying to steal home before a Hayes Sturtsman single scored Meyer for a 2-0 lead. Churubusco would score a run in the fourth to make it 2-1.
The Manchester offense would get going in the sixth. Thane Creager would lead off with a walk and was followed by a Mason Roberts single. A Trey McNall sac bunt would move both runners before a Shepherd single scored Creager to make it 3-1. Strobel would follow with a single that chased home Markum to lead 4-1. After a Meyer walk Fluke would single home Shepherd before a Sturtsman fielders choice scored Strobel to make it 6-1.
