The Wabash Apaches took on #5 Lewis Cass Saturday in the semi finals of the Wabash sectional, falling behind early before making a comeback that fell just short in a 4-3 loss to the Kings.
Lewis Cass would take advantage of some timely hitting and a couple Apache mishaps to plate 3 runs in the third and held that lead until the fifth when the Apaches would plate a run. Kory Fuller would lead off the inning reaching on an error before a Reece Samons double chased courtesy runner Wyatt Davis to third. Wabash would then run themselves out of a possible big inning when Levi Hall grounded into a double play that ended up in a rundown before Wyatt scored to make it 3-1.
In the sixth Trenton Daughtry would lead off with a single before stealing second and taking third on a throwing error. Clayton Floor would then reach on a dropped third strike with Daughtry racing home to make it 3-2. A Blake Gribben single put runners on the corners before a Jared Holley fly ball scored Davis to tie the score 3-3.
Cass would answer with a one out home run in the top of the seventh before holding Wabash in the bottom of the inning for the 4-3 final.
