The Wabash Apaches tennis team secured their 2nd 3-2 victory in a week with an away non-conference win at Culver Community high school Tuesday.
Wabash and Culver played to a stalemate in the first half, with the Apaches having a goal taken off the board after time expired.
Wabash opened the scoring with Jared Brooks finding space down the right, and assisting on a pass into the box for Wyatt Davis to finish. The Cavaliers responded with two goals to take the lead.
The Apaches’ response was quick, as Wyatt Davis found Grant Carandante to tie the game. With seven minutes left in the game, the Apaches took the lead for good as Austin Black found Wyatt Davis in front of goal.
Traydon Goodwin and goalkeeper Blayze Shemwell, who made 9 saves, anchored the defense for the Apaches.
Wabash returns to conference play Saturday, with a boys and girls doubleheader against Whitko.
