Once again the Southwood defense took care of business while the youthful offense found it’s way in a 28-6 win at North Miami Friday.
The Knights offense got off to a good start, getting a 1yd rushing touchdown from Gabe Lloyd with 2:46 left in the first quarter for a 7-0 lead before going silent the remainder of the half. The Knights led 7-0 at the half.
While the Knights dodged the rain in the first half, the heavens opened in the second half which seemed to ignite the offense. With 8:06 left in the third quarter Lloyd would score from 25yds out for a 14-0 lead before Alex Farr found the end zone from a yard out with 4:02 on the clock to build the Southwood lead to 21-0.
North Miami would get on the board with 9:13 left in the game on a Tristan Working 35yd run to make it 21-6 before the Knights mounted a long drive that was capped off by a Logan Barley 5yd touchdown for the 28-6 final.
