The Northfield Norsemen got on the winning track Friday, defeating Tippecanoe Valley 27-7.
The Norse dominated the entire first half, scoring 21 points while pitching a shut out on defense. Northfield held Valley to just 169 total yards for the game.
Just three minutes into the game the Norse would grab the lead when Levi Fulkerson scored from 8yds out and a 7-0 lead. The Norse would tack on two insurance scores in the second. Fulkerson would score from 3yds out with 10:00 left. With 6:14 left in the half Clayton Tomlinson picked off a Valley pass as raced 55yds for the score. Northfield led 21-0 at the half.
Valley would put up the first score of the third quarter on a 5yd run with 6:01 on the clock before Braden Ripplinger found pay dirt with 2:02 left from 7yds out. Northfield led 27-7.
Neither team would score in the fourth.
