On Tuesday the middle school Wabash Lady Apaches cross country team defended their home course in a three way meet against RJ Baskett and Peru. Starting their course at the bottom of Green Grass Hill at the Wabash’s City Park, the girls took off with 21 athletes in total and landed some season best times and high placings despite their course’s toughness.
8th grader, Grace La Mar came in first for the team taking away 6th place and landing a time of 16:11. Ashleigh Hadley, a 5th grader, came in right behind with 7th place and a personal best time of 16:28. 6th grader Ivy Beamer followed in after her teammates with 8th place and a personal best time of 16:38. Two fifth graders came in with their personal best times as well. Ava Bishir being the next in line, taking 9th place with a time of 16:54 and Maya Howard stealing 12th with a time of 17:50.
The middle school Lady Apaches came to their home turf to give it their all and have another chance to show their personal best on their home course. Saturday, September 22nd, the girls will race again at the Wabash Invitational before heading off to Conference.
