Squires Struggle In Second Half Against Valley

It was the tale of two halves for the Manchester Squires Friday, scoring 25 points in the first and and leading at halftime before being shut out in the second half and falling to Tippecanoe Valley 46-25.

The first quarter was fast and furious as each team scored two times. The squires would grab a 7-0 lead when DElton Moore scored from 32yds out. Valley would answer the Manchester TD, but miss the extra point leaving the Squires up 7-6. Manchester would extend their lead to 13-6 when Devin Marcum found the endzone from 15yds away before once more Valley answered and made the kick to make it 13-13 after one.

It would be another dose of Moore and Marcum in the second quarter. Moore scored from a yard out with the two point conversion failing for a 19-13 lead. Back came Valley scoring on a 2yd run and missing the kick to make it 19-19. Marcum would get the second score for the Squires in the quarter from a yard out and once more the two point conversion failed. Manchester led 25-19 at the half.

Everything that went right in the first half went just the opposite in the second half for the Squires. Manchester never could penetrate the endzone while Valley scored twice in the third and twice in the fourth for the 46-25 final.
