The Wabash Apaches boys soccer team triumphed 5-0 for the second time in a week over the Tri-Central Trojans.
The Apaches scored early, with Austin Black sending in a beautiful corner for Paul Cordes to knock in. The Trojans slowed down the Apache attack, but Austin Black finished off a Wyatt Davis pass to make it 2-0 at halftime.
Paul Cordes bagged his 2nd goal of the game when he finished off a beautiful Grant Carandante pass midway through the second half to make it 3-0. Carandante scored a goal of his own three minutes later after Anthony Long sent in a deep pass from the left wing for him to finish off. Andrew Dinkins rounded out the scoring for the Apaches when he finished off a hopeful ball from Wyatt Davis to make the score 5-0.
The Apache defense stalled the Trojan attack by not allowing any shots on goal in either half, which is a credit to the Apache back line lead by Jon Maiztegui, Traydon Goodwin, Anthony Long and Taylor Coffman with Blayze Shemwell in goal.
The Apaches return to conference play on Monday, squaring off in the final TRC matchup of the year against North Miami. The Apaches will be celebrating Senior Night, as they honor Austin Black and Blayze Shemwell in their final home match for Wabash.
