What a great night for football! Wabash came away with the 18-8 victory over TRC rival Tippecanoe Valley.
It was 8-0 with about 10 seconds left on the clock when Mason Dillon threw a pass over the middle and connected with Traydon Goodwin for a touchdown as time expired. Wabash failed on the 2 point conversion and went into the half down 6-8.
The 3rd and most of the 4th quarter was back and forth with no scores for either team. With about 1:20 left in the game Wabash attempted a go ahead field goal that hit off the back of a linemen and bounced about 20 yards back behind the LOS. With it being a live ball Traydon Goodwin picked up the football and ran it into the endzone for the go ahead score.
The next drive Brayden Sickafus picked off the Vikings QB and took it back for a touchdown to make it 18-8.
The defense was lead by Charley Smith and Chad Wyatt.
Wabash C Team will be back in action next Monday when they play Rochester at 6:30pm at Alumni Field.
