Top flight wins guide MU

ANDERSON, IND. – Sophomore Karly Eichenauer (North Manchester, Ind.) registered her first collegiate victory at the number one slot in singles and doubles, spotlighting Manchester University’s dual at Anderson University Thursday, Oct. 4.

Eichenauer knocked off the Ravens’ Allison Newman in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 in singles. She came back and joined freshman Chelsea Brettnacher (West Lafayette, Ind.) for an 8-6 thriller over Newman and teammate Mandy Meserve. AU rebounded for a 7-2 league victory sweeping through the remaining singles decisions and winning number two and three doubles by 8-0 scores apiece.

MU returns to its outdoor courts for back-to-back loop matches to conclude the regular season Friday and Saturday, Oct. 12 and 13. They take on the Lions of Mt. St. Joseph at 1 p.m. Friday and the Panthers of Hanover College at 2 p.m. Saturday.
