Can you say final four. Well that is where the Wabash Lady Apaches are headed after defeating Frankton and Tipton to win the Taylor regional Saturday.
Wabash was impressive in the semi final against Frankton, winning 25-23, 31-29, 25-19. The Lady Apaches would get good serving from Kaylee Graf early and kills from Sam Irgang and Kiley Stone to grab a 10-7 lead. Wabash would hold off Frankton many times and never let loose of the lead, winning game one 25-23. Alivia Short and Mariah Wyatt would add kills down the stretch.
In game two Frankton would grab a 4-2 lead before the Apaches got rolling. KIlls from Stone ans Sam Irgang ignited a 6-0 run as Wabash took an 8-4 lead. The Apaches would build their lead to 16-10 with Short and Brooke Irgang doing the killing. Up 20-14 Franton would make a run ar Wabash, scoring 6 straight to tie the score. Wabash would then find Tabitha Wagner who put away 3 kills as the two team were tied 25-25. Down 29-28 Wyatt would score ona block, followed by an ace from McKenzie Hayslett to hold off Frankton 31-29 in game two.
Many time this season the Apaches would be up 2-0 only to have a let down as was the case early in game three.Down 15-9 the Apaches would find a second wind however, getting a kill from Sam Igrang that started a 6-2 run to put Wabash up 17-15. Tabby Wagner would a kill and 3 aces during the run. Wabash would continue to hold the gas pedal down, taking game three 25-19 and advancing to the regional championship.

In game one of the championship Wabash was leading 3-1 when Wagner scored on a tip that ignited a 7-0 run for a 10-1 lead. Wabash was leading 13-3 when Tipton started to work their way back in the game, closing the deficit to 15-11 before Wagner and Brooke Irgang took over in the 25-18 game one win.
Another great start in game two out the Apaches in the drivers seat, Sam Irgang and Short would smoke a couple kills as Wabash led 11-6. Franton would the find a little momentun and come back to gran their first lead at 13-12 and led 14-13 when a Wyatt kill put Wabash back up. Wyatt would control the net the remainder of game two as Wabash won 25-20 amd led 2-0.
Things went down hill for the Apaches in game three where nothing they did went right. Tipton would take advantage of the Wabash miscues and they defeated Wabash 25-13.
Tipton would lead early in game four before it looked as though Wabash was going to regain their composure. Trailing 11-7 the Apaches would get a kill from Brooke Irgang that started a 7-3 run for a 17-14 lead. Tipton would come back to tie the score at 17 before a block and a kill from Sam Irgang gave Wabash a 20-17 lead. The Apaches were at game and match point at 24-23 when Tipton made a run, winning game four 26-24 and forcing a final game five.
Everything Wabash lost in games three and four they found in game five. Down 3-2 and Sam Irgang serving the Apaches would go on a 6-0 run to grab an 8-3 lead. Tabby Wagner had a kill during the run. A Wyatt block and a kill from Short made it 10-5 before Tipton made a small surge and cut the Wabash lead to 12-10. At 14-11 and Irgang serving a bullet, Tipton fed a lob to Wyatt that she buried for the 15-11 win and the regional title.
