The Manchester boys were just seconds away from a huge win Friday before falling to Huntington 52-51 in overtime.

The Squires would grab a 2-0 lead on a Weston Hamby bucket and led 5-3 after two free throws from Thane Creager and a bucket from Brayden Casper. The Vikings would grab a 6-5 lead on a three pointer before Casper added one of his own to give Manchester an 8-6 lead after one.

Huntington would score the first 5 points of the second quarter to grab an 11-8 lead and eventually built their lead to 21-13 before a Logan Parrett bucket and a three from Hamby made it 21-16 at the half.

The Squires would get scoring from four different players in the third with Kam Lester, Hamby and Caleb Stout all hitting from behind the arch. Manchester would score 13 points in the quarter, but could never close the gap as they trailed 36-29 heading to the fourth.

A Lester three and two Casper buckets early in the fourth would keep the Squires in striking distance. Trailing 43-35 with a minute and half left Hamby would drain a three from the corner while being fouled and converting the four point play. Hamby would hit his second three of the quarter with .43 on the clock to close the gap to 43-42. With 32.3 left the Squires would foul with the Vikings hitting one free throw for a 44-42 lead. Playing for the final shot with some response time Casper would be fouled on a drive with 12.8 on the clock, hitting both free throws and sending the game to overtime.

Manchester would grab a 46-44 lead early in the OT on two Hamby free throws before the Vikings tied the score. The second lead of the OT came on a Hamby three to lead 49-46 before the Vikings answered with two straight buckets and led 50-49. Logan Parrett would give the Squires the lead back on off an offensive rebound at 51-50. Huntington would answer with two free throws with 27.5 left for a 52-51 lead giving the Squires one last shot. Manchester would go for the win, missing the shot and two tip attempts before falling 52-51.
