HANOVER, Ind. – Host Hanover College survived a furious rally from the Manchester Spartans to claim a 66-62 victory in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, Manchester turned the ball over with 9 seconds remaining and the Panthers made three-of-four foul shot attempts to seal the win.

Both Adrian Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind. / Fall Creek) and Cortiz Buckner (Lafayette, Ind. / Lafayette Jefferson) added 10 points apiece. Cornell Hampton (Griffith, Ind. / Griffith) grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds.

Manchester went toe-to-toe with the HCAC-leading Panthers, as the Spartan defense held Hanover to just 5-of-19 shooting from three-point territory. Both teams shot 26-of-60 (43 percent) from the field. Manchester held a significant advantage on the glass as the Spartans outrebounded HC 46-28. Hanover forced 18 Manchester turnovers that resulted in 20 Panther points.
