Apaches Roll Past Elwood

The Wabash Apaches scored the first 17 points of the game and cruised to a 56-34 win over Elwood Tuesday.

The Apaches would come out firing on all cylinders. Blake Gribben would get the run going with six different players scoring in the quarter. Trenton Daughtry led the charge with a three pointer and five points. Wabash led 19-5 after the first quarter.

Elijah Vander Velden and Daughtry would hit back to back buckets to start the second quarter and increase the Wabash lead to 23-5 before the Panthers scored 9 straight to slice the lead to 23-14. Daughtry would stop the Elwood run with a three, followed by a Logan Vander Velden bucket to make it 28-14 at the half.

The Panthers would pretty much play the Apaches even in the third quarter although Wabash never let the visitors get closer than 11 points. Elijah Vander Velden would hit two straight buckets to start the fourth and make it 43-25 when Elwood scored 5 straight for a 43-30 score. At 45-32 Jared Holley would take over on the boards, scoring three times before Joe Laland ended the scoring with a three and a 57-34 win.

Wabash won the junior varsity contest 76-14.
