Lady Knights Fall At Mississinewa

The Southwood Lady Knights fell to Mississinewa 69-31 Wednesday.

Despite an early basket by Alissa Pershing, a poor start by the LadyKnights would have them behind 8-2 within a couple minutes and 12-3 by the end of the quarter.

There were a few positives in the 2nd quarter, making a few mini-runs to tighten the game after 2 tres from MaKenna Pace and 2 jumpers from Morgan Farr. That duo also forced several turnovers in the period. However, the Indians strong post would convert 3 and-1s to close the half and extend the lead.

Ole Miss would hit their first 3 shots of the 3rd quarter on a quick 8-0 run to put the game away abruptly. Kayla Mays would continue to fight, scoring 7 points in the quarter.

Coach West quote “Tough loss, quite disappointing. But I’ve learned that these girls are quite resilient and have always bounced back determined to learn and improve. Looking forward to that tomorrow in preparation for a busy 2 weeks ahead of us.”
