Rocky Fourth Quarter Cost Lady Knights
The Southwood Lady Knights would hang with Bluffton for three quarters Tuesday before falling to the Tigers 52-32.
Southwood trailed 11-8 after the first stop with MaKenna Pace scoring all of the Knights points.
Down 13-8 early in the second quarter Alissa Pershing would hit two free throws and a bucket to slice the Tigers lead to 13-12. Down 17-12 Morgan Farr would hit before Sierra Stout drained a three to make it 17-17. Bluffton would respond with 5 straight before a Kayla Mays bucket made it 22-19. Bluffton led 24-19 at the half.
Mays would hit the first bucket of the third quarter with Erin Lehner and Pace matching the Tigers. Bluffton led 29-25 when they went on a 5-0 run to open a 34-25 lead before Pace and Stout responded with buckets to make it 34-29. Bluffton led 36-29.
The fourth quarter would belong to Bluffton as they rode two runs and out scored Southwood 16-3 for the 52-32 final.
