Dale Ties School Record In Lady Norse Win Over Wabash
The Wabash Lady Apaches played host to county rival Northfield Saturday, falling to the 1A, #6 Lady Norse 50-37.
Ariel Dale, who tied a Northfield single game record for made three pointers that was held by Northfield head coach Melissa Allen and junior varsity coach Sydney Chamberlain started the game off with a long ball to make it 3-0. Addi Baker would sandwich a bucket between two from Mariah Wyatt before Tabby Wagner hit to give Wabash a 6-5 lead. Baker would put the Norse back up with Dale and Kearston Stout hitting for a 12-7 lead. Mia Benysh would answer with a bucket, followedd by two Alivia Short free throws for a 12-11 score before Kelcie Thomson drained a three to make it 15-11. The final bucket would come from Short as Northfield led 15-13 after one.
Emma Hoover would hit from behind the arch to start the second quarter and increase the Norse lead to 18-13 with Abby Vinopal matching the shot for an 18-16 score. A Baker bucket and Dale’s third three of the game made it 23-16. The Norse were leading 26-20 when their pressure defense took a toll on the Apaches with the Norse scoring the last 9 points of the quarter to lead 35-20 at the half.
The two teams would trade punches in the third quarter with Dale hitting from long range for the fifth time in the game while Wyatt dominated under the bucket. Northfield led 44-28, then scored the last three points for a 47-28 lead after three.
Wyatt would score the first bucket of the fourth quarter before Dale answered with her sixth three pointer to tie the school record. Wyatt, Vinopal and Benysh would hit down the stretch for Wabash, but time ran out as Northfield defeated Wabash 50-37.

Wabash scoring : Benysh 4, Unger 2, Vinopal 6, Wagner 4, Wyatt 17, Short 2.
Northfield won the junior varsity contest 36-28.
