The Northfield Lady Norse played host to Whitko Monday, starting a little slow before taking off and defeating the Wildcats 63-25.
Abbey Ross would give Northfield a 2-0 lead before a Kelcie Thomson bucket and a three from Ally Keaffaber made it 7-2. Emma Hoover would also hit a three for the Norse as they led 12-7 after one.
Kyra Kennedy would hit back to back buckets to start the second quarter and hit the first three baskets for the Norse. Up 23-13 after a Hoover three Ariel Dale would hit two free throws, followed by a Keaffaber bucket as the lead grew to 27-13. Whitko would score the next four points before Hoover, Melanie Beery and Ross all connected to give Northfield a 33-17 halftime lead.
With the Norse leading 35-19 early in the third quarter Dale would hit two free throws, followed by a Thomson three and a bucket from Addi Baker for a 42-19 lead. The Norse finished the quarter with on a 7-2 run and led 49-23 after three.
The Norse would come out in the fourth with Thomson needing just one point to reach 1000. Northfield would score the first 14 points of the quarter with Thomson reaching the milestone on a free throw midway through the run. Dale and Ross led the charge in the quarter as the Norse cruised to the 63-25 win.
Northfield put nine players in the scoring column, including four in double figures led by Ariel Dale and Emma Hoover with 11 points each. Kelcie Thomson and Kyra Kennedy each added 10, Abbey Ross 8, Ally Keaffaber 7, Melanie Beery 2, Addi Baker 2, Kearston Stout 2.
