BLUFFTON, Ohio – Manchester came up short at Bluffton University on Wednesday, falling on the road to the Beavers by a final score of 61-44. Bluffton has been hard to beat all season in the Sommer Center and improved to 12-1 at home this season with Wednesday’s win over the Spartans.
Both teams struggled offensively on Wednesday night. Manchester shot 18-of-58 (31 percent) from the field and went just 4-of-16 from downtown. Bluffton was held to 19-of-49 (39 percent) and also made four three pointers. The Beavers held a significant edge in foul shooting, making 19-of-23 attempts. Manchester made just 4-of-12 attempts at the free throw line. Bluffton also controlled the glass, outrebounding Manchester 47-29.
Adrian Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind. / Fall Creek) finished with 12 points, six assists, six steals, and five rebounds. Keiton Hall (Lansing, Mich. / Williamston) ended the night with 11 points and three made three-point field goals.
Manchester dropped its fifth straight game and fell to 9-15, 6-11 HCAC. Bluffton improved to 16-7, 11-6 HCAC. The Spartans will look to finish the season on a high-note this coming Saturday at Rose-Hulman. Saturday’s game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
