The Northfield Norse grabbed a 4-0 lead and made it hold as they defeated Whitko 5-1 Monday.
The Norse would grab a 1-0 lead in the first when Clayton Tomlinson hit a two out triple and scored on a Nate Drancik single. The Norse would add to their lead in the third. Cole Rosen led off with a walk and was followed by Chance Hartman being hit by a pitch. With one out Hartman would reach on an error that scored Rosen and Hartman to lead 3-0. With one out Drancik would score on a pick off attempt at first for a 4-0 lead.
Whitko would plate a run in the fifth to make it 4-1 before Johnson scored in the sixth off a Rosen single to make it 5-1.
