The Manchester Squires played host to Columbia City Friday, falling to the Eagles 9-4.
Columbia City led 3-0 after the top of the third before the Squires scored solo run in the third and fourth to make it 3-2. In the third Kam Lester would reach on an error and was followed by Mason Meyer reaching on a fielders choice. Mason Roberts followed with a walk to load the bases with no outs before the Eagles turned a double play with Lester scoring to make it 3-1.
In the fourth Korbin Hensley would single and was followed by Kyle Shepherd being hit by a pitch. With one out Grant Strobel would draw a walk to load the bases before Hensley scored on a Lester ground out.
Columbia City would respond with four runs in the fifth to grab a 7-2 lead with the Squires responding with solo runs in the fifth and sixth. Mason Roberts would hit a home run in the fifth with Lester scoring in the sixth off a Meyer single.
The Eagles would tack on two more runs in the seventh for the 9-4 final.
