The Wabash Apaches scattered eight hit over seven innings in a 5-3 win over Tippecanoe Valley Friday.
Wabash would grab a 1-0 lead in the first when Robert Irgang reached on a fielders choice and scored on a Kallen Kelsheimer single.
The Apaches would tack on a couple runs in the third. Kaleb Gidley led off drawing a walk and advanced to third on a Trenton Daughtry single. Daughtry and Gidley would then pull off the double steal for a 2-0 lead. Daughtry would then score on an Irgang grounder to lead 3-0.
Valley would plate 3 runs in the fourth to cut the Apaches lead to 3-2 before Wabash responded with a run in the fifth. Irgang would walk and was followed by a Kelsheimer double. Blake Gribben would ground out, scoring Irgang to make it 4-2.
In the seventh Irgang would hit a one out single before taking second on a wild pitch and scoring on a Gribben single. Valley would score a solo run in the bottom of the inning for the 5-3 final.
