Lady Squires Come Back Falls Short


The Manchester Lady Squires trailed Rochester 7-0 before cutting the deficit to 7-6. Rochester would respond with a run to defeat the Squires 8-6 Wednesday.

Down 7-0 heading to the bottom of the third the Squires would cut into the Zebras lead. Emma West would lead off the inning with a single and was followed by Torina Runkel reaching on an error. Emma Evans would then fly out with West tagging up to score and make it 7-1. Kindra Stetzel would follow with a rbi single for a 7-2 score. With two outs after a Mackenzie Day single Carsyn Howard would single home Stetzel and day to make it 7-4.

In the fourth Lydia Greer would lead off reaching on an error and was followed by a West single. Runkel would then single to load the bases with no outs. Rochester would then turn a double play before Stetzel singled home West and Runkel to make it 7-6.

Rochester would respond with a run in the fifth for the 8-6 final.
