Norse Softball Tames The Tigers

The Northfield softball team collected 14 hits in a 7-4 win over Peru Wednesday.

Peru would take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first with the Norse answering with 2 runs in the bottom of the inning. Addi Baker would lead off with a single and was followed by an Ally Keaffaber single. Abby Hunter then hit a double to score Baker. With one out Faith Satterwaite would hit a fly ball that chased home Keaffaber for a 2-1 lead.

Northfield would increase their lead in the third. Hunter would lead off with a single and was followed by a Kyra Kennedy single. With one out Elise Gottschalk would double home both runners to lead 4-1.

Peru would cut the Norse lead to 4-3 in the top of the fourth with the Norse getting both runs back in the bottom of the inning. Jenna Krom led off with a double and was followed by a Baker double to make it 5-3. With one out Hunter would single home Baker to make it 6-3.

Peru would make it 6-4 in the fifth before the Norse got the run back in the sixth. Hunter would lead off with a double before scoring on a Satterwaite single for the 7-4 score.
