Apaches Shut Out Squires For Sectional Title

The Wabash and Manchester baseball teams battled for a sectional title Monday with the Apaches scoring four runs in the fourth inning to defeat the Squires 4-0.

Wabash pitcher Trenton Daughtry kept the Manchester bats silent most of the day, giving up just four hits. The Apaches collected ten hits with the major blow coming in the fourth.

Daughtry would start the inning with a single before being picked off at first. With one out Robert Irgang would double before a Kallen Kelsheimer single made it 1-0. Blake Gribben would follow with a single before Payton Sodervick was hit by a pitch. Bryant Boggs would then lay down the squeeze with Kelsheimer scoring for a 2-0 lead. Gribben would then score on a wild pitch before a James Booth single drove home Sodervick for the 4-0 lead.
