Manchester Girls Soccer Shuts Out Huntington
The Manchester girls soccer team defeated Huntington North 2-0 Thursday in non-conference play.
The Lady Squires started off strong as Gabbie Brewer sent Emma Garriott to the corner for a beautiful cross where Beletu Stout was able to finish the shot on the back post. The game was back and forth throughout the rest of the half.
Great defense was played Lex Donathan, Gabbie Brewer, Haley Clifford, Torina Runkel, Kayla Metzger, and Hadley Schannep shut down the Lady Vikings. Kindra Stetzel was fantastic in the net with 13 saves and earning the shut out.
The Lady Squires got their second goal at the 15 minute mark in the second half as Karen Saucedo was able to place the ball ahead for Emma Garriott to finish. Bailey Mooney, Gabbie Brewer, Lex Donathan, and Lainey Shock did a great job controlling the middle. Beletu Stout, Eva Bazzoni, Haylie Miller, and Ella Clifford did a great job running the outside. Ranissa Shambarger and Addie Haecker did a great job up top putting pressure on the Viking defense.
