The Wabash boys soccer team defeated Culver 5-1 Tuesday.

5 different Apaches helped secure the win Tuesday night in sweltering heat over Culver Community High School.

The match started well for the Apaches, as Wyatt Davis slotted home for Wabash within the first 5 minutes. Culver notched their only goal in return to tie the match when the Apaches failed to clear an offensive possession by the Cavs. The Apaches responded well with a solid goals by Tre Lopez and Jacob France.

The second half slogged to a start with the Cavs keeping possession for a majority of the first 20 minutes. However, just before a heat-related water break, Mario Melendez found the top corner of Culver’s net to give himself a wonderful birthday goal. Andrew Dinkins rounded out the scoring for the Apaches to settle the game 5-1.

The Apache goals were assisted by Andrew Dinkins, Mario Melendez, Braden Brooks, and Michael Cordes.

The Apaches take on the Blackford Bruins next Tuesday at home.
