Spartans Topped by Defiance

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Manchester women’s tennis team was defeated by Defiance College in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Wednesday September 18. DC won by a final tally of 6-3.

MU (0-6, 0-2 HCAC) picked up wins at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 and 2 singles. The duo of Karly Eichenauer (North Manchester, Ind./Manchester) and Morgan Brazo (Mentone, Ind./Tippecanoe Valley) battled to an 8-4 win in doubles action.

Eichenauer won her third singles match of the year on Wednesday, defeated Defiance’s A.J. Breneman 6-1, 6-1. Brazo earned a hard-fought 6-3, 2-6, 11-9 triumph at the No. 2 singles position.

The Yellow Jackets moved to 2-4, 1-2 HCAC with the win. Manchester will host Earlham College on Saturday September 21 at Noon as HCAC play continues.
