Norse JH Football Falls To Valley

The Northfield junior high football teams lost a pair of games to Tippecanoe Valley Tuesday.

The seventh grade football team struggled to get its offense going in Tuesday’s home game
against Tippecanoe Valley. The seventh graders rushed for 10 yards on nine carries. Jared Holmes
paced the offense with 11 yards on a par of carries. Marcus Meyer finished the game 2-for-2
passing for 15 yards. Kameron Pratt hauled in both passes and added 12 return yards for 27 all-
purpose yards. Pratt also led the defense with five tackles. Eli Bone contributed 2 1/2 tackles as
well.
The eighth grade gridiron Norse suffered a 41-8 home loss to Valley Tuesday night. Northfield’s offense
generated solid offense early, but five turnovers found the Norse behind early. The eighth graders rushed
for 139 yards on 25 attempts. CJ Long paced the offense with 71 yards on three carries, including a 41-yard
TD run. Layne Denton added 37 yards on 16 carries. Kody Stambaugh finished 17 yards on two attempts
while Aiden Eads added eight yards on one carry. Eads also added a two-point conversion run. Eads
finished 2-of-5 passing for 32 yards. Long caught one pass for 24 yards while Denton hauled in the other
pass for eight yards. Stambaugh and Long both finished with five tackles on defense. Isaiah Beall had a
tackle for loss to go along with three other tackles. Turner Stephens added 2.5 tackles.Long finished with
174 all-purpose yards: 71 rushing, 24 receiving and 79 return yards.
