Norse Stun Knights In Sectional Second Round

The Northfield and Southwood football teams met Friday in the second round of sectional play. The Knights came in undefeated while the Norse were riding a 6 game winning streak.

The Norse would strike first and dominate both lines in a 14-6 win over the Knights.

13 of the 20 points in the game would be scored in the first quarter. With 4:27 left Graydon Holmes found pay dirt from 6yds out to give Northfield a 7-0 lead. The Knights would answer with 38 seconds on the clock when Alex Farr and Carson Rich connected from 15yds out to make it 7-6.

The Norse would get the lone score of the second quarter when Levi Fulkerson scored from a yard away to lead 14-6 at the half.

Both defenses would dominate the second half, with each holding the other scoreless in the 14-6 final.

Stats from each team will be added Saturday

Northfield will host Adams Central next Friday for the sectional championship
