RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College fifth-year senior Chainey Zolman was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, for his efforts in leading the Quakers past Wilmington College last week.

Zolman tallied team-highs of 17 points and seven rebounds in Earlham’s 79-76 road victory over Wilmington on Monday, Nov. 25. He was 6-of-11 (.545 FG pct.) from the floor with three 3-point field goals. He converted a four-point play – a 3-pointer with a successful foul shot – with 10 seconds remaining in the game to give Earlham a 77-76 lead coming down the stretch.

The win was Earlham’s first victory over Wilmington College in 15 years; the Maroon and White’s last triumph over the Wilmington Quakers was a 56-44 win on November 29, 2004.

Zolman is the first Earlham men’s basketball player to earn HCAC weekly honors since Elijah Wilson-Thomas was tabbed with conference player of the week honors on January 29, 2018.

Earlham men’s basketball opens its HCAC slate on Wednesday, Dec. 4, when the Quakers travel to Lexington, Ky., to face Transylvania University. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
