Long Ball Not Enough For Norse

It was a contrast in styles Saturday night as the Peru Tigers and the Northfield Norse squared off in a TRC match-up.

The Tigers took an aggressive style of basketball against the sharp shooting of the Norse. In a see saw affair that saw 8 lead changes and 5 ties; the Tigers finally prevailed 78-69.

Peru got to the line 34 times in the tilt as Northfield set a school record connecting on 16 made three pointers in 32 attempts.

Peru had leads of ten points on three different occasions as the Norse led by as many as 6. The last tie came at 49-49.
Leading the way for the Norse was Dillon Tomlinson with a career high 18 points hitting 6 of 11 three pointers. Graydon Holmes added a career high of 16 including the team leading 8 rebounds. Jarret Shafer also had a career high as he scored 15 points hitting five long bombs. Leading scorer Clayton Tomlinson spent most of the night in foul trouble but still managed to score 13 points and had a game high 7 assists. Jayden Peas added three points as Kaleb Krom and Alex Haupert each added a basket. The Norse are back in action Tuesday night at Southern Wells.
