Overall the Squires wrestled tough to have a chance at the team title with forfeits in two weight classes and some key starters out of the lineup. Manchester was neck and neck with Cowan all day, but faced some adversity that led to the runner up finish. While Senior Ashton Moore and Sophomore Dylan Stroud dominated their brackets to win back to back titles at the invite, Junior Jacob Caudill had a breakout run to the finals as well. Junior Elijah Burlingame finished 3rd with another pin against Tippy Valley, and Junior Albin Lederhilger put all of his opponents on their backs and finished an impressive 4-1 on the day. Several underclassmen including Brock Casper, Dominic Lincoln, and Jordan Ayres were able to get some nice pins for the team as well.
The Squires will now look to get healthy as the team prepares for their first appearance in the IHSWCA Team State Duals on Saturday, January 4 in the Fort Wayne Coliseum.
