Manchester Wrestling Wins East Noble Invite

The Manchester Squires varsity team wins the Championship in the East Noble Invitational with 200 points to beat Huntington North (198.5).

Dylan Stroud, Elijah Burlingame, Ashton Moore, and Bryce Kamphues win individual titles.

Overall the Squires wrestled very hard to win the East Noble Invitational for the first time over several solid teams from the Fort Wayne Semi-State. Manchester was in a close battle with Huntington North and East Noble all day despite the Squires sending 7 wrestlers to the Finals. Sophomore Dylan Stroud picked up 2 dominant victories over SS ranked competitors, including a 16-2 win against Darryn Kuhl in the 1st place match. Junior Elijah Burlingame had a huge day for the Squires which included a late comeback victory in the semis, and a big pin against the tough Grant Owens in the finals. The Squires finished the day with 4 straight wrestlers going for first, with seniors Ashton Moore and Bryce Kamphues picking up solid decision victories to secure the team title. Junior Albin Lederhilger had his opponent on his back and nearly won the title, and freshman Zach France made a great return to the lineup with his run to the Finals. Manchester was very consistent throughout the lineup, with ten guys winning 2 or more matches and scoring at least 14 team points.
The team looks to continue this momentum as it prepares to close the dual season with senior night against Triton on Thursday at 6pm.

The JV Team competed at Northfield, with 2 wrestlers going undefeated.
