Wabash CC Dominates At North Miami

The Wabash cross country teams participated in the North Miami Invite Tuesday.

The MS lady Apaches travelled to North Miami High School for their second meet of the season. With the humidity not on their side, the Apaches pushed through to reach for their goals. With strong efforts, the girls team finished with all of the girls setting new PRs for the season.

First for the team was our 7th grader, Raegan Jones, with a time of 13:59 and taking 10th place overall. Coming in next for the team was Chloe Cooper, a 6th grader, in 17th place over all with a time of 15:03. Next came Ivy Beamer (8th grader) with a time of 15:49 in 23rd place. Flying in next for the team was a 6th grader Mia Fairchild with a time of 16:23 in 28th place. Pulling in as a trio, 5th grader Caitlyn Shidler cruised in with a time of 17:30 followed by her sister, Audri Shidler (6th grader) with 17:32, and Ava Bishir rounded out the team with a 17:34. The trio took 33rd, 34th, and 36th.

Despite the draining heat, the Apaches turned it up a notch and pursued blazing fast times. Up next, the MS Ladies will be traveling down south to compete in Terre Haute next Saturday, September 5th.

The Wabash Middle School Boys cross country team ran at North Miami Tuesday afternoon. Despite the hot conditions the Apaches put 7 runners in the top 12 for a final score of 19. Chase Howard won the race while Drew Guenin-Hodson came in second and Bobby Shull 3rd.

The HS lady Apaches travelled to North Miami High School for their second meet of the season. Under the beaming sun and thick humidity, the Apaches set themselves on the line determined to finish their race standing strong. Amongst 6 other teams, the Apaches made their marks on the course, finishing well despite the weather against them.

First for the team was our freshman, Calisen Kugler, with a time of 27:28 and taking 9th place overall. Coming in next for the team was Sierra Hall (senior), in 11th place over all with a time of 29:14. Finishing up the trio, our sophomore, Grace La Mar, come in with a time of 34:53 and taking 17th place.

Despite the heat, the Apaches came out to compete. Up next, the Ladies will make the trip up north to Penn High School to compete at the Penn Invitational. Girls race will start at 12:30pm.

The high school boys varsity cross country team traveled to North Miami Tuesday afternoon for their second meet of the season. Zack Reed came in first, Jarrett Wilson 3rd, Dave Ford 4th, Caelan McDougle 5th, and Kaden Vogel 9th for a score of 22 points.
