Lady Squires Soccer Goes 1-1 At Own Invite
The Manchester girls soccer team went 500 in their own invite Saturday.
Manchester lost to Culver Military Academy today 1-2. It was a tough and well fought battle for the Lady Squires. Manchester was able to score first in the first half. Lainey Shock sent in a beautiful cross to Emma Garriott who finished. Culver then scored later in the half and again in the second half to lock on the final score. Torina Runkel, Ella Clifford, Kayla Metzger, and Lex Donathan did a great job defensively. Erica Ortiz, Lainey Shock, Beletu Stout and Hadley Schannep played well in the middle. Kindra Stetzel has a phenomenal game in the net with 20 saves throughout the game.
In the second game the Lady Squires came out to a slow start allowing South Adams to take an early 2-0 lead. Amyia Miller was able to score her first goal of her season to take the Lady squires into half time down 2-1. In the second half Beletu Stout was able to score back to back goals and Lex Donathan finished a beautifully placed free kick to get the fourth goal. South Adams was able to break through and score a final time to end the game 4-3 in favor of the Lady squires. Kindra stetzel has another big game with 15 saves. The ladies played well and will return to action Tuesday at North Miami.
