Apaches Defend Home TURF
The Wabash Apaches finally got to play on their new turf field, grabbing a 14-0 first quarter lead and hanging on to defeat Peru 14-10 Friday.
Wabash grabbed the lead in the first quarter when a Joe Leland pass was tipped into the arms of Jared Brooks to make it 7-0. With 3:30 left in the quarter Leland would hook up with Bryant Boggs from 29yds out for the 14-0 score.
The remainder of the game would be a defensive battle with Peru scoring 10 points in the third. The Tigers were driving in the remaining seconds of the game before Brooks picked off a pass to seal the win.
